About sporting.ca

An independent guide to drop-in sport and recreation in Toronto — 232 venues and 5,994 weekly sessions, in one searchable place.

Why this exists

Toronto runs thousands of drop-in sessions every week — public swims, open gyms, pickleball, shinny, fitness classes — but the schedule lives across half a dozen separate City maps, PDFs and a booking portal. Finding out whether you can play tonight means checking several of them. sporting.ca pulls every session into one place, organised the way people actually decide: by venue, by sport and by day.

What it is, and is not

This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the City of Toronto and nothing here implies City endorsement. The site is free to use, carries no ads, and every schedule is rebuilt from the City's published open data — re-checked weekly, with the verification date shown on every venue page.

Schedules change: holidays, maintenance closures and facility rentals can override what a feed says. Where the data can't answer something — a pool's exact length, whether a sold-out course still shows open — the page says so rather than guessing. The full account of what the data covers and where it stops is on the data page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong — a schedule, an address, a cost — the fastest fix is the weekly refresh, which picks up every upstream correction the City publishes. For anything the refresh can't catch, the venue's own front desk remains the authority; every page links its official source.
